Croats Enjoying a 'Baking' Christmas at up to 23 Degrees Celsius

Croatia, December 25 (CD) – Croatia is enjoying an unseasonably warm Christmas day with temperatures soaring to 23 degrees Celsius in places on Friday.

The highest temperature of 23 degrees war recorded in mid-Croatia's Nova Gradiska and temperatures below 15 degrees were only recorded at higher altitudes with Zavizan which is usually totally covered in snow this time of year measuring five degrees and Sljeme a springtime 10 degrees.

This will probably make it the warmest Christmas over the past 60 years which it will be if the average temperatures reach over 16 degrees.

Last week, however, Croatia suffered a cold wave and was blanketed in snow including its northern seaside resorts like Pula and Rijeka.
